her dream

Over the past 10 years, we’ve spoken with hundreds of girls aged 15–21 in focus groups to better understand their dreams and the support they need to achieve them. What we found was quite concerning: while so many of these young women have bold, inspiring dreams, their fears about whether those dreams are even possible often hold them back. The biggest hurdle they shared is a lack of connections in their chosen industries.

Without those networks, they’re left unsure about where to start and many end up abandoning their dreams altogether for something that feels more within reach. That’s where we come in.

our mission

We are committed to removing barriers and creating pathways that empower girls to achieve their fullest potential.

Our programs directly address the challenges identified by girls in our research, recognising that although the barriers might evolve, they remain persistent at every stage of life. Our goal is to ensure that every girl has the infrastructure, resource and support needed to make her dreams a reality. We do this by opening doors to industries, building their networks, and providing them with the guidance needed to turn early ambitions into achievable goals.

"This program can impact a lot of people. Hearing Aron’s struggles, passions and his journey really motivates me to pursue what I want to do. This program has made me figure out who I want to be in the future."

Chloe Chan on meeting Aron Gelbard (Founder & CEO of Bloom & Wild)

I started the year with no confidence and having no idea that the need for good communication and teamwork skills are extremely salient, I wanted to understand the world of work and The Women Association has given me a great insight and outlook on what life as someone with a job will look like. Working with McCann and EY gave me the experience needed. I was surrounded by other girls who had the same aspirations as me and were also keen on gaining experience. We worked together, building our communication skills, leadership, professionalism and time management that have now given me valuable and crucial experience and will hopefully transfer once I am actually in the real world with a career.

This will take place during (1) February half-term, (2) Easter holidays, (3) Summer holidays and (4) October half-term and across the week the ladies will visit 5 different businesses.

This program offers a unique opportunity for companies to inspire the next generation while providing valuable real-world experience to young women.

I had an amazing experience spending the day at Leo Burnett through The Women’s Association. It was incredible to learn how they use social media to make their advertisements resonate with everyday people.

Meeting the CEO Carly and hearing her inspiring journey to her position was a highlight of the day. Jasmin and George, who facilitated the program, were so encouraging and made me feel like achieving a similar role is closer than I imagined.

Working on a current brief for McDonald’s was a unique and exciting challenge that gave me a real taste of the industry. I can’t wait for the opportunity to take part in another experience like this!

The project will consist of a 3-5 dav retreat which will serve as a beacon of hope for the girls amid the relentless pursuit of perfection perpetuated by social media.

In this offline retreat, girls will get the chance to rediscover their true selves without virtual expectations. This retreat will empower them to rebuild their self-esteem, and confidence, and reaffirm their self-worth.

meet our founding girls

Since 2021 we started a program giving girls the opportunity to get further support from the TWA team and network, whilst they support us with insights to help inform our approach.

"Being one of the founding girls is something I never imagined two years ago, but now I don't regret it at all. The day I became a founding girl changed my life. It showed me the power of one idea to help many people. Deborah, one of my role models, tackled a problem with a crazy idea and made it work, showing me that my opinions (and girls all around the world ) matter.

Looking into the future, I know that my life will be different with new connections, companions, and ideas from the support of the founding girls and executive challenge. I strongly believe the executive challenge will make a big impact on my future, and I'm excited to see it happen one day"
